Keep your bathroom as dry as possible to reduce mold if you have allergies. The best way to keep air dry and circulating is with a bathroom exhaust fan. In addition, when you are cleaning, make sure you are using a solution with chlorine bleach. This solution will help kill mold. While testing for allergies with skin tests are helpful to alert you to what allergies you have, it is very difficult to know how bad your allergic reaction is going to be towards those substances. For instance, you a test may reveal that you’re allergic to a specific spore. It may be that you suffer only very mild symptoms when the allergen is present, or you may suffer nothing whatsoever.

Keep yourself hydrated if you want to alleviate bronchial allergy symptoms. When you are dehydrated, the membranes of your nose and throat can become dry and irritated. Without sufficient hydration, it can be hard for mucus glands to create secretions for the bronchial tubes. For many allergy sufferers, it is impossible to effectively treat symptoms on their own. When the effects of seasonal and other allergies become too much to bear, it is wise to seek the assistance of a medical professional. By consulting with a specialist, you will have greater access to useful diagnostic tools and prescription treatments that would, otherwise, be unavailable to you. Many people use bleach for cleaning purposes. However, bleach can be a problem for some people with allergy and sinus troubles. If you must use bleach, wear a mask and gloves. That will protect your skin and lungs. You can keep your windows open, and a great tip here would be to put a fan inside of the window blowing outward. This gets rid of the bleach fumes and keeps pollen out!

You are going to want to create as dust free of an environment as possible. Dust all around your house can make for a horrible living situation, that can make you have allergies day and night. Allergy sufferers can benefit by using a neti pot. A neti pot is used to rinse nasal passages and by doing so, it can help with allergy symptoms. Fill the pot with lukewarm, distilled water and a teaspoon of table salt to create a saline solution. Lean your head to the side, and pour the water into one nostril at a time. This is a great and natural method for allergy relief.

Avoid smoking if you have allergies. Breathing is harder with allergens, since your nose and sinus passages are clogged due to them. Smoking can decrease the ability of your lungs to fill with air. For some individuals, like those with lung conditions (COPD, emphysema), smoke can actually cause an allergic reaction and infection. The best thing allergy sufferers can do is avoid smoking and avoid second-hand smoke.

Keep coats, jackets and shoes away from everything else. They have been outside, and therefore bring pollen, ragweed and any other number of allergens into your home. Watch the time, if you experience seasonal allergies. Pollen is most oppressive between 5 and 10 o’clock in the morning, and therefore you should try not to be outside during that block of time. If you have to go outside, try not to stay out for very long and limit your activity. When pollen is rampant in the air outside, don’t open the windows. It’s always nice to get some fresh air into your home, but any beneficial effects of the fresh air may be countered by the increased pollen if you open your window during peak pollen hours. Peak times for pollen are between the hours of 10am and 3pm. When you know when levels are highest, you can then wait to open windows after those peak periods.
