Architect Kai-Uwe Bergmann is scheduled to speak May 17, at 7 p.m. at NewSchool of Architecture and Design as part of the San Diego schools lecture series that brings inspiring and innovative designers and architects from around the world. The event is free and open to the public.
Who: Architect Kai-Uwe Bergmann, partner at the award-winning Bjarke Ingels Group firm, who is also teaching a special design studio at NewSchool of Architecture and Design this Spring term.
Lecture Topic: The lecture will cover topics including Yes is More, Hedonistic Sustainability, and the work of BIG Architects.

About the Architect: Kai-Uwe Bergmann is a Partner at Bjarke Ingels Group, a New York and Copenhagen based group of architects, designers and thinkers operating within the fields of architecture, urbanism, research and development. BIG has created a reputation for completing buildings that are as programmatically and technically innovative as they are cost and resource conscious. Bergmann brings his expertise to proposals around the globe, including work in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Kai-Uwe heads up BIGs business development which currently has the office working in over 15 different countries. In addition to these duties, Kai-Uwe is also Head of Communications. Registered as an architect in the USA, UK and Denmark, Kai-Uwe is also a LEED AP certified architect who was Project Manager upon Central Asias first Carbon Neutral Master Plan – Zira Island in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Bergmann is currently a visiting lecturer at NewSchool of Architecture and Design this Spring term where he is co-teaching the BIG-NSAD Studio with NSAD instructor Frank Wolden.
