Comments for pleasurablekingdom http://www.pleasurablekingdom.com Thu, 15 Dec 2011 09:13:24 +0000 hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3 Comment on Ways You Can Become A Better Parent by Famoushttp://www.pleasurablekingdom.com/home/ways-you-can-become-a-better-parent/#comment-620 Famous Thu, 15 Dec 2011 09:13:24 +0000 http://www.pleasurablekingdom.com/home/ways-you-can-become-a-better-parent/#comment-620 first; my mil is the sweetest person with a of gold....but she buys my dd soooo much stuff; she literally has a bedroom fixed up like a nursery her to use when there' ....everytime she visits which is often, she always brings clothes, etc....so much , that i could easily not buy any for my dd, although i do occasionally bc i like to pick them out; ours tastes are a little different sometimes....but she has bought so much for us and it makes her happy....she bought our crib, high chair, prob several other things i remember; one of our baby gates....she used to bring formula; last visit was clothes and two boxes of baby food; i kinda get annoyed with the overflow of clothes (and she has a huge stash at her house waiting for dd to grow into, btw, lol), but then i remind myself that she enjoys it, her only grandchild, and my hub is the youngest, so they had pretty much given up on grandchildren! And they both often put money towards things my husband and I would like to purchase and incredibly thankful. She is ridiculous, just like my mother-in-law. My son was born 5 weeks early and was in the hospital for 22 days. She visited once for an hour. The first 5 months of his life she had nothing to do with him. Now all over him since 10 months old and "interesting". I had to tell her to give US a break. She would show up at weird times and call constantly. I appreciate the fact that she wants to be in my life but it is possible to over-do it! My suggestion to you is concentrate on your kids and take a step back from everything that make you smile or ease your mind. If you have to have your gaurd up around someone, you be spending time with that person, and that includes your boyfriend. It took me a long time to realize that my son is number one and when it comes down to it, the only person who will make me smile every single day and he needs my love, help & protection. He is my baby and nothing will change that. So just try to focus on yours. Tell that woman that she is not a doctor and until she has gone & got her PhD you would appreciate it if she would stop diagnosing you. But you should consult your Doctor regarding if you feel detached from your babies OR any other issues because totally common (I had it) and you need help if diagnosed.
