2 Chainz Set To Begin The Second Leg Of His Sold Out Based On A T.R.U Story National Solo Tour

New York, NY – October 13, 2012 -There is no denying that 2 Chainz is the hottest rapper in Hip Hop music, today. After a meteoric rise rarely seen in music, he has safely secured his spot on the top. His style and impact is quickly changing the landscape of music and you cant help but hear a rendition of his infectious 2 Chaaainz, or Tru when ever his name is mentioned. What makes it all the more impressive is that it isnt just hype. Based On A T.R.U Story, his first solo project with his now label Def Jam, landed on the Billboard charts at Number 1 its first week and has sold close to 500,00 copies. 2 Chainz most recently performed at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards along side long time friend and collaborator, Lil Wayne, and stole the show. In addition to his performance at the VMAs, he also took the stage at the BET Hip Hop Awards while taking home 4 trophies.

As he gears up to embark upon the second leg of the tour, which begins in Jacksonville, FL on November 23st, 2 Chainz had this to say about the experience I never get tired of seeing, vibing, and sharing experiences with my fans. It's just me and them in an intimate setting, in a different city all over the country. We turn up and basically have a party in every city on stage. When the first half of the tour started the album had just dropped so I didn't know what to expect. Now that the album has been number 1 in the country, and every city has been sold out, I feel like the people enjoy what I bring to the table.

    The Coup

Born in Chicago and raised in East Oakland's Funktown neighborhood, Boots became a teenage community organizer, but later switched from a clipboard to the microphone, forming the Coup with rapper E-Roc. Pam the Funkstress, the first female DJ star in the famously competitive Bay Area turntablist scene, later signed on. As a producer and lyricist, Boots Riley has crafted critically acclaimed albums for The Coup that have graced the year-end Top 10 lists of Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and more. They have also received "Album of the Year" honors from The Washington Post, Time Out New York, while Billboard Magazine declared the group "the best hip-hop act of the past decade." Born in Chicago and raised in East Oakland's Funktown neighborhood, Boots became a teenage community organizer. From his history of student organizing in Oakland's public schools, serving on the central committee for the Progressive Labor Party, being the President of Youth InCar (Youth International Committee Against Racism), organizing to build California's Anti-Racist Farm Workers' Union, to developing "guerrilla hip hop concerts" (mobile concerts on flatbed trucks), Boots Riley has been an integral part of the progressive struggle for radical change through culture. The Coup's 1991 self-distributed EP landed them a deal with Wild Pitch Records. Two singles, "Dig It" and "Not Yet Free", cracked BET and national black radio. Their debut, 1993's Kill My Landlord, went on to wide acclaim. The next year, Genocide and Juice shot up the charts, but stalled when EMI absorbed Wild Pitch. E-Roc then left the group. 1998's Steal This Album, released by indie label Dogday Records, was received as a masterpiece and sealed the Coup's rep. But the band's next record, Party Music, scheduled for release shortly after 9/11, became a cultural flashpoint amidst Cheney-Ashcroft hysteria. The album's original cover (completed three months prior to 9/11) depicted the crew setting off an explosion in the World Trade Center using a guitar tuner and drumsticks. The band's label, 75 Ark, pulled the cover immediately after the attacks. "As far as the record industry was concerned, it was the end of my career," Boots says. Instead, Boots' defiant refusal to "ride the fence" and the album's undeniable funk made it an underdog favorite. The album hit #8 in the 2001 Pazz and Jop Poll, the most important year-end critic's list. At the same time, Boots visited South Africa's World Conference Against Racism with the Black August hip-hop tour, where he distributed tens of thousands free cassettes of music in the Oakland community, what he calls "newspapers on tape". He also founded Shoyoass Words, Sounds, & Pictures, a record and media company specializing in music and art that he calls "relevant to social change." In 2003, the Coup joined with Billy Bragg, Steve Earle, Tom Morello, and Janeane Garofalo, on the barnstorming, Bush-slapping "Tell Us the Truth" tour. Working with those artists proved influential on Pick A Bigger Weapon. "This album took a bit longer, because all of these influences were getting a chance to settle," says Boots, also citing the Clash's "Bankrobber" as another substantial influence. The record achieves a musical and thematic unity. "I like albums like Songs in the Key of Life, Death Certificate, Beatles albums," says Boots. "I like feeling like I'm getting a presentation, rather than a bunch of Polaroids of people in the studio on a certain day." Boots just finished touring North America fronting Street Sweeper Social Club, a band where he Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave) joined forces. This tour took them across North America playing arenas with Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction. Their debut album, Street Sweeper Social Club debuted at #37 on Billboard and has been receiving continual spins on major market alternative rock and hip hop stations around the country, including Chicago, Detroit, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The Coup is here. They say it's a democracy. You decide.

Can anything even more magical happen in the already charmed career of Los Lonely Boys? You bet. Its calledRockpango, their first self produced long player on their own LonelyTone/Playing In Traffic Records. And yeah, its magical indeed.

At least as magical and maybe more so as debuting in 2003 with a multi-chart gold single, selling millions of albums, winning a Grammy, racking up reams of critical acclaim, opening for The Rolling Stones, and many more accomplishments for the Texican rocknroll trio of brothers. Plus playing and recording with such legends as Willie Nelson and Carlos Santana, associations that give a strong hint at whats at work here onRockpango.

After proving themselves one of the most stunning and wonderful musical success stories of the last decade, Los Lonely Boys are now carving out their legend with their fourth studio album. Even though the band has already shown they can up the ante with greater musicianship and confidence (People) every time out, on Rockpango they heighten the trajectory, open up their sound, and show what flourishing maturity feels like from these veteran yet still young and burgeoning musical talents.

Rockpangois a spirit and sound coined by Los Lonely Boys that takes the next step from fandango (a beat of loving celebration) and then huapango (another infectious Latin rhythm that gets the fiesta cooking) to a full-scale Tex-Mex American roots rock party galore. Bursting out of the gate with the simmering and slinky American Idle that scans todays tough economic times, and wrapping up 10 tracks later with the fierce and fiery assertion that love is the answer on Believe, Los Lonely Boys look at the big picture around us with the concerns and continuing faith that come with well-grounded adulthood.

Their ever-expanding musical vision fills the set with new facets that further reveal the groups already notable artistic diversity. 16 Monkeys is a delightfully funky slice of infectious neo-bohemian wit and wordplay, while orchestration by the Tosca String Quartet adds classic rock-pop sophistication on the achingly beautiful Road To Nowhere and the Beatle-esque gem Smile. And they fuse deep blues with a hip-hop twist on Porn Star, which includes a razor-sharp rap at the tail end by Kush, one of their Texas extended family relations.

They soar on Fly Away, rip it up to percolating Latin beats on Love In My Veins and Baby Girl, and reassert their mastery of the classic music that influences them as demonstrated on their recent 1969 EP. They deliver 60s style blues-rockers on the rousing title tune and powerfully loping Change The World two more slices of their spot-on social commentary and consciousness.

The trademark Los Lonely Boys genetic vocal blend is deeper, richer, more fluent and confident than ever. The rhythms are utterly irresistible as well as flush with smart syncopation and muscular drive, abetted on some tracks by tour percussionist Carmelo Melo Torres. The brothers songwriting skills stamp indelibility on every winning number. And Henry Garza goes even beyond what Guitar World hails as being a guitarist with chops out his ass who doesnt care about chops [and] just opens up and plays. Joined by veteran Austin player Riley Osbourn on keyboards, Los Lonely Boys deliver and more onRockpango.

Im super proud of it, says JoJo Garza, bassist and middle brother in the triumvirate. Its just progress, maturation and growth. Growing up, being older, seeing the world were living in. Its also touching base with home.

Los Lonely Boys tale to date is already the stuff legends are made of: Playing behind their father as kids in cantinas and honky-tonks. Moving to Nashville in their teens to try to win a record deal. Returning to their native Texas, where the brothers made their bones on the club scene as a live act. Releasing their self-titled debut, which goes double platinum, and penning a #1 radio hit in Heaven.

Two more stellar studio albums followed:Sacred(2006) andForgiven(2008). In 2009, they cut1969, an EP that leaps back four decades to reveal how the groups roots extend well past their birthdates on songs by The Beatles, Santana, The Doors, Buddy Holly and Tony Joe White. 2010 brought about the release ofKeep On Giving: Acoustic Live!a snapshot of their recent acoustic tour.

So after all that, whats left but to meet the new decade with the great leap forward, upward, outward and onward ofRockpango? It was just time to grow and change, explains JoJo. But not change too much. Its kind of like a tree. A tree doesnt actually change much as it grows. It gets taller, grows more branches, gets thicker and stronger.

I think its one of our best if not our best, he adds. We took the ball and I think we scored a touchdown.

And after eight years of championship seasons,Rockpangopaves the way for Los Lonely Boys to enter the rocknroll pantheon of legendary musical artists while also remaining true to themselves. Were still Lonely Boys, JoJo insists, chuckling in agreement that they are also now Los Lonely Men who have truly come of age on their latest. Were still family, were still three brothers, were still doing what the good Lord has blessed us with, and thats singing and and playing for people who really want to listen.
